What is the difference between self-managed hosting, third-party managed hosting, and IBM MAS SaaS?
If you decide to deploy MAS in the cloud, you have several options: You can manage your own cloud environment, you can rely on a third-party like Cohesive that also include managed services. Or, you can deploy IBM MAS SaaS on IBM cloud.
With self-managed cloud hosting or a third-party hosting provider, you can use on-premise AppPoints. Third-party hosting and managed service providers can also include hosting within Embedded Solution Agreements. IBM MAS SaaS uses SaaS AppPoints.
What does a MAS cloud migration look like? How long does it take?
We have a two-week provisioning target. Overall, this is a technical exercise with minimal lift from the business. The process consists of six key steps:
- Current environment analysis
- Stand up new architecture
- Copy database to new hosting provider
- Connect integrations and other external network connections to lower environments
- Perform regression testing
- Go-Live
How much does MAS hosting cost?
MAS hosting fees are estimated on a case-by-case basis using a tiered model. Hosting fees are driven predominantly by: Size of the end-user population, complexity of the implementation, size and number of environments. Pricing also varies based on length of agreement. We offer one and three year commitment terms.
Does MAS hosting allow Java customizations?
Yes, MAS hosting does support and allow Java customizations in collaboration with the Cohesive services delivery team.
Does MAS hosting allow third-party mobility products?
Yes, MAS hosting supports third-party mobility products in collaboration with the Cohesive services delivery team.
Does MAS hosting support SAML authentication?
Yes, MAS hosting supports SAML authentication in collaboration with the Cohesive services delivery team.
Does MAS hosting provide access to OpenShift?
Generally, access to OpenShift isn’t allowed. Exceptions may be granted for certain occasions.
Does MAS hosting allow access to the MAS Administration page?
Yes, access can be granted for administrative users.
Does Cohesive allow access to the Maximo Manage database?
Yes, access can be granted. Network connectivity needs to be established to the database and can be done so with several options. We often require a VPN to be setup to provide access to the database, but we can also add trusted IP address to allow network access.
What does Cohesive provide if MAS hosting services are terminated?
Upon termination, Cohesive will deactivate any accounts and upon request provide an export of the Maximo Manage data in a standard, generally accepted electronic form (database export) within ten (10) business days.
Can a backup of the Manage database be provided at any time?
Upon request, Cohesive will provide an export of the Maximo Manage data in a standard, generally accepted electronic form (database export) within ten (10) business days.
