IBM Maximo proves
a real asset for
HES Gdynia

A new Enterprise Asset Management System improves visibility of critical information, helping the client optimize decision-making and work effectiveness.

The Challenge

HES wanted to implement an asset management system (AMS) to manage and maintain the cranes, loaders, and other equipment. The objective was to significantly improve the efficiency of maintenance work.
They wanted to eliminate paper versions of their work and repair reports and to build a central digital repository of all information about their assets. The goals were defined as follows:

  • Provide support for processes in the planning and realization of maintenance works following their internal procedures and external regulations
  • Failures registration along with analysis and handling
  • Develop a mobile application to support maintenance work in the field and registration of all undesirable events including failures
  • Optimize human resources management along with supervision regarding permissions and qualifications to perform tasks

Our Solution

Thanks to our close relationship with IBM Polska, they recommended us to the client as their best business partner with the knowledge, business, organizational, and technical skills to guarantee efficient implementation of the AMS.
The delivered solution contains the following products:

  • IBM Maximo Asset Management v.7.6 with ten specifically selected modules
  • Custom Mobile Application that supports failure reports and workorders

The Results

Implementing IBM Maximo Asset Management with the added mobile solution has delivered many benefits to HES, including:

  • The ability to track, manage and maintain significant assets
  • Real-time access to resources and work order information
  • Automation of business processes in the field, improving records and management of assets
  • Access to the history of work completed and lifecycle of assets
  • Improved management of maintenance work and repairs reduced time from failure reporting (through the mobile app) to repair

Further development of the mobile app is ongoing, specifically in extending its functionality.

With our new asset management system, the access to this vital information now allows us to optimize our decision-making and improve our work effectiveness.
